Integrations · Make

Any web page, into your scenarios. In plain words.

Three modules named after the job: a whole list, one page, or a question. A list comes back one bundle per item, ready for Google Sheets.

Set it up

  1. Get an API key from your dashboard. New accounts get 100 free pages.
  2. Open Plainscrape on Make and click Install.
  3. In a scenario, add a module, search Plainscrape and choose one of the three jobs below.
  4. Create a connection and paste your API key.
  5. Fill in the page URL and what you want in plain words, then Run once.

Three jobs, named the way you'd say them

ModuleWhat it doesExample
List items from a pageEvery item on a page, each with the fields you name.Every product on a shop page: title, price, rating.
Get details from one pageOne thing from a page, as named fields.A company's name, address and phone number.
Ask a question about a siteA question about a site, answered in plain words, with the pages it used. What is the refund policy?

A list comes back as one bundle per item, so Google Sheets Add a Row maps each field straight across; Limit sets how many bundles (empty: all of them). Get an answer fetches an earlier answer by its ID, List items from an answer returns an earlier list one bundle per item, and Make an API call reaches any part of the API.

Big lists

Make gives a module about 40 seconds, so each Plainscrape module waits 25 seconds. Most answers are ready by then. A bigger job keeps going on its own and is billed when it finishes; the module stops with its Answer ID. Collect it later with Get an answer or List items from an answer, or put a Make custom webhook in Notify URL (advanced settings) and a second scenario starts the moment the answer is ready.

Budget: your cost cap

Budget (max pages) is the most pages a step may read, and so the most it can cost. One page fetched is one page billed; pages that fail are free. Leave it empty and a list reads up to 10 pages, a question up to 5. The free trial allows 10 pages a step; paid plans go up to 10,000 (a question: 20). The receipt on every answer says what was billed and how many pages you have left.

What people build with it

  • Prices into Google Sheets every morning. A schedule, then List items from a page, then Google Sheets Add a Row: one row per product.
  • New listings into a CRM. Jobs, homes or products from a listing page become records in your CRM.
  • Alerts in Slack or email. Ask a question about a site, such as whether a price has dropped, and send the reply.
  • Answers for AI steps. Feed the fields to a ChatGPT or Claude step instead of a whole page.

FAQ

No. Pick a module, give it a page URL and say what you want in plain words. Each field is ready to map into the next module.

The same meter as the API: one page fetched is one page billed, and failed pages are free. New accounts get a one-time 100-page trial (14 days, no card). Plans are on the pricing page.

It keeps running and is billed when it finishes. Get an answer (or List items from an answer, for a list) with its ID collects it; a Notify URL posts it to a Make webhook as soon as it is ready.

Public pages: shops, listings, news, docs and the like, including pages that need JavaScript. It does not log in, and it follows each site's robots.txt.
